This is a situation that has been brewing for years. Because of bad decisions at Lattice and an inability of the MSDOS group at SAS to deliver a marketable compiler Lattice has been a losing proposition for SAS for some time. As for SAS, they have quite an extensive world-wide distribution and support organization, and their manufacturing facilities include their own printing facilities and video production studios.
