GS/OS first looks for a file named START in the SYSTEM directory. If it can't find that, it will run the first P16 file called .SYS16 that it finds in your root directory. You can also ditch the control panel and the CDEVs after you set your preferred RAM Cache size. You can set just about everything else through the regular control panel. unless you need to access Appletalk or use the chooser.... But then you can still get rid of most of the CDEVs.
