First the background information. The machine that is involved is a DEC-3100s running ultrix 2.1 (rev 14) with a DEC server 200 (LAT). 1. UUCP doesn't seem to be able to call out over the LAT. I believe that the LAT and lcp commands have been set up correctly. I have been able to use kermit to talk to the modem hooked up to the LAT and call out. uucico doesn't seem to see the humor of using a LAT, and gets confused. I have called DEC about this problem, and the person I talked to thought that there was a patch, but he hasn't gotten back to me. (There is a good chance that he called while I was out of my office, but it has been a week, so I thought I would post.) 2. I can't get CAP (Columbia AppleTalk Package for UNIX) to work on the above system. However, I was able to get it to work just fine on another 3100. The machine that is works on is a DEC 3100 color machine, the one that it doesn't work on is a DEC 3100s. I thought that the machines were running different revs of ultix, but when I give the command /usr/ucb/strings /vmunix | grep 'Ultrix' >/tmp/t1 both give the answer Ultrix Worksystem V2.1 (Rev. 14) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
