If you want a good BASIC compiler, buy QuickBASIC 4.5. It works with ON ERROR
GOTO ... and it compiles to a stand-alone .EXE file.

If you want the best BASIC compiler, buy the Microsoft BASIC Professional 
Development System 7.0.  This is the top-of-the-line BASIC programming
environment that gives C a run for it's money. This is not a toy. Thousands
of professional developers are doing hundreds of thousands of lines of real
code with this tool.
