The newer models of Jumbo with rev 40 firmware can operate WITHOUT A SEPERATE CONTROLLER even if you have a B drive. I am using one in my home system with A and B drives. It essentially operates in "parallel" with the B drive, but not concurrently, of course. The manual I got indicated that rev 39 would work also, but I can't say from experience.
