Now that I use my XT-class machine as anything other than I dumb terminal, I realize how slow it is. So here's my dilemma: I can get an AT clone machine for $700 or so. Or I could keep my machine and use an accelerator card. The ones I know about are the PC-Breakthru, the Tiny Turbo, and the Inboard/PC 386. I'm just a "poor graduate student"(tm) so I'd like to get off for a little $$$ as possible. Has anybody out there had any experience with these types of cards? Are they fairly robust? Is there a significant gain in performance over a V20 8MHz PC/XT? Orchid seems to offer several different cards, is there much of a difference? Any tips or traps would be most welcome. Please Email, and I'll summarize if there is enough interest.
