PageMaker 3.02 often has problems with certain files an seems to corrupt them. 
I have experienced this problem many times.  On suggestion is to NEVER save. 
Use Save As...  PageMaker does not write over your entire last-saved version,
it only save the changes which you have just made.  Using Save As... assures
that a new version is created every time.  If something goes wrong, you can
always open the previous version.
