Elliott) Organization: Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab Lines: 17 Distribution:Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Lab A lost soul brought me a damaged Mac 1440K floppy disk with two bad sectors. This disk contained an EXCEL file with 5 years of blood sugar data (the last year unbacked up) The verify funtion of Mac Tools by Central Point reported of both sectors "-71 error, "couldn't find a data header mark". I have attempted recovery with SUM II, 1st Aid, and Copy II/Mac Tools Deluxe. I'v run out of ideas. There are a few other options that operate directly on the damaged disk, but I prefer not to use the original disk. 1) Does anyone know of a mac program that can make a bit image of 1440K disk? Central Point's software does supports bit images only on 400K and 800K disks. 2) Does anyone know of recovery software that dan repair a bad sector header on a 1440K disk. Central Points Track Editor only works on 400K and 800K disks. --
