I've written a fairly large 4D application for a video store
in LA.  The store is now expanding and wants to operate more than
one mac to handle customer rentals and purchases.  The problem is
that putting 4D into multi-user mode slows things down quite a bit.
The database itself (data) is getting rather large > 20MB and I'm
concerned that the performance is simply going to be unbearable.

So, I'm soliciting information about alternative databases that are
better suited for multi-user applications and that are sophisticated 
enough that porting the application won't be a major headache.  Please
