I print using the MacPrint printer driver. In fact, I also use SuperLaserSpool to print in the background. It works. But it is slow. Sometimes it can take 10 minutes to print a mildly complex page (at 300 dpi). For speed, I can use the low resolution option in the printer driver dialog box (75 dpi) which is much faster. It's a great way to use a non-Postscript laser printer. MacPrint is very well done. My Mac gets pretty sluggish with background printing turned on. But it works. I'd rather have a postscript printer, but this set up is much cheaper, especially if you already have access to a LJ II (note: you need at least 1 meg of memory in the printer).
