Depends on your dealer. The dealer I go to asks no questions, though they sure take their own *)*(&(&^ time about getting around to fixing it. Just about every replacement board I've seen has SIMM sockets of different colors, presumably this repair is a common one (though that doesn't mean that they were done under AppleCare) -- Matthew T.
