Message-ID: <964.269749b1@waikato.ac.nz> Date: 8 Jul 90 02:56:48 GMT Organization: University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand Lines: 27 I've been using the beta version of ResEdit 2.0 only long enough to uncover a fraction of its new capabilities, but definitely long enough to miss some of the old ways of doing things... I think I actually miss the old windows for displaying the contents of a volume or folder. I realise the more standard "Open..." menu item makes it possible to double-click a resource file from the Finder, but it does make it more awkward to open (or get info on) more than one file at once. I love the verification feature--exceedingly useful. I turned it on by default, until I found out how long it could take on something as big as a System file. Idea: could a "verify on open" check box be added to the "Open..." dialog? The default setting could be taken from your preferences. This could let me skip the checking on a file I'd already opened once, without having to keep changing my preferences setting all the time. Also, is there any way to open an alias file, without having the alias being automatically resolved? At the moment if I want to examine alias files, I have to use ResEdit 1.2 to do it.
