asked about disappearing menus.  Offhand, sounds like the MDEF virus.
Try getting a copy of Disinfectant 1.8, available at finer BBS's and
nets everywhere. I don't believe earlier versions will detect MDEF.
Also, Vaccine only partially blocks MDEF. For more details, read the
docs in disinfectant.
