Howdy folks,

Does anyone have a TROFF previewer working?  I think I need a 'makedev'
program.

I have just finished building the GNU GROFF package on our VAX and now
I am having problems with the previewer, 'gxditview', that comes with
GROFF.  It is a modified (?) version of the MIT core client
'xditview'.

I am having the same problem with 'gxditview' as I was with 'xditview'
and 'xtroff' and 'xproof'.  All of these programs expect a DESC.out
file along with .out files for each font in the different device
directories.  We don't have a computer with DWB and I haven't ever seen
'makedev' go by on the net.

Could someone point me to a 'makedev' program?  Could the compiled
device files be included in one of these previewers?  Has anyone
without DWB been able to get a previewer to work?
