I believe the last time I posted an article with the same title, I didn't give enough information; unfortunately, I also couldn't cancel the article. I have done \catcode`^^A=0 And the source file "tiru.tex" has lines looking like this: {\btam 2 a...} (Don't worry about \btam; it's just a macro for a font.) I hope the ^A's show up in the line of TeX above. Now, even though i've catcoded ^A to 0, sbTeX29 gives me the following error message: This is TeX, Version 2.991(c)sb29 (no format preloaded) (tiru.tex (tamilmax.tex) ! Text line contains an invalid character. l.2 {{\btam ^^? maa^^?... ? Is this a bug? This file TeX's fine on UNIX C TeX v. 2.995. Or do I need to do something? I'm working on a XT Turbo 8mhz clone, and I haven't had the slightest problem with sbTeX before. Please email to mani@sybase.com or post a reply. Thanks!
