How compatible are G++ and AT&T's C++??

I heard that the GNU version of nroff is written in G++.

Unfortunately, G++ hasn't been ported to the 3B series of computers,
but I have C++ on one of the 3B15's on work on.  Would groff compile
and run with C++?
