I am currently working on a short program which will add users to our
ultrix machine.  I need to know how the passwd program creates password
fields for /etc/passwd.  The documentation on crypt and encrypt isn't the
greatest.  The program will create several accounts with the same password
and in the same group.  The account names are in such a way that the class
can be determined by the name field of /etc/passwd.  As the students log
in, they change there passwd to something they only know.
