Yes, you simply need to subclass the edit window. Use SetWindowLong and
GetWindowLong for a particular window, SetClassLong and GetClassLong for a
class of windows.
BTW, its been a *looong* time since I heard the term fullstop. It means 
'period', or the point after complete sentences!
