The latest instance was when I had five document windows opened. One window contained a 20 page document loaded with a template containing 15 styles; I was editing the BRIEF and ARTICLE templates in two other windows; and an empty "new" document was loaded in the fifth window. I had just inserted a table of contents in the 20 page document, and had just started recording a macro when I got the "unrecoverable" error. Between the formatting problems I had earlier in the day (including a glossary that does not save character formatting) and the unrecoverable errors, I tell ya, I just gave up, converted my 20 page document back into Word 5.0 format, and completed it using Microsoft's still-superior character based product. I had been an enthusiastic advocate of Winword --- until I tried to actually DO something with it! I am fairly disgusted at this point. Anybody else out there having consistent trouble with Winword in a "production" environment? Regards, Tony Brich
