[...] Now, I found icondraw.zip on one of the ftp sites (don't ask me which one!), and I've been able to create some nice icons for DOS apps and some Excel/WinWord applications. However, I'd like to use some of the icons in .EXE files (PD only!) and/or .DLLs as starting points for making new icons. Also, wading through large .DLLs to pick icons is rather tiresome. So, is there an easy way to pull out an Icon resource out of an .EXE or a .DLL (which are really the same thing)? It doesn't sound like it *should* be hard, but I don't know how to go about it. I have the Win2 SDK, if that helps (but probably not, since icons are now 16 colors). Could somebody tell me where to find a description of the DLL format?
