Anybody interested - or does it already exist? A guide to X, the Universe and
everything - sorry  :-)  but lets expand it to XView/Xlib/X/Xt/motif/...

What I'm looking after is a guide that gives examples with _short_ explanations
on how to create all sorts of things in XView/Xlib/X/... 

like:

XView: Xview must be initialised before use with:
  xv_init(XV_INIT_ARGC_PTR_ARGV, &argc, argv,
    NULL);

XView: When everything is set up xv_main_loop is called
  xv_main_loop(frame);
