Building X GUI for Genealogy db Message-ID: <269A616B.12936@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca> Date: 10 Jul 90 23:14:51 GMT Sender: Pete Wood, Dept. of Comp Sci and Sys Distribution: na Organization: McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Lines: 23 Help!! I am currently engaged in the development of an X-based user interface for a genealogy database which is implemented in INGRES. This gui requires the building, management, and display of a number of tree-like structures. Depending on the size of the data set(s) used in developing each structure, a portion only of the structure may be displayed at any point in time, with the user able to move to any adjacent portion of the structure in question. I have to believe that I am, at this point, attempting to do this in a sub-optimal manner ( read this as 'it's turning into a bit of a mess' :-)). Can anyone out there point to references which would be of aid in this matter? Please e-mail responses to wood@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca I will summarize responses if there is any interest. Thanks in advance, Pete Wood.
