(I warned you it sounds strange!) I think the reason this works so well is that the body can quite rapidly detect the lower temperature and the blood carries the heat there to get rid of it. This only takes 5-10 second to feel the difference. I have used this a lot when I am in a situation where I don't want to get my collor/hair wet (when I have a bussiness meeting). Nolan
