Hi people.  I just learned about a new service of interest to the
Deaf/Hearing Impaired community.   It is called Profiles and is a
computerized listing/introduction service which is accessible by TDD or 300 
baur ASCII at (201) 766-1245.  Don't try calling at higher speeds because 
300 baud is the upper limit just now. The system is up 24 hours a day, 7 
days a week.

The subscribers appear to come from all over the USA and with ages ranging
from early 20's to mid 70's.  This is the female listings of course; someone
else will have to check out the male profiles :-)

All the application information is online and subscription is done only 
after voice,  TDD or postal validation.   

The clientele is aimed primarily at the deaf/hearing impaied just now
(i.e.  TDD users).  But if you ask nicely I think they will let hearing
computer users join as well :-)
