Do write and thank the appropriate TV station for showing the program. Then point out that not every viewer is able to hear and understand the voice and/or sign interpreting. Ask that if they show a similar program in the future that it be closed captioned. 2. Do the same as in #1, but to the University of Washington professor, and to the moderator, (Washington State Association of the Deaf). And then add a comment about communications accessibility. Also, volunteer to assist and advise them if they have any questions. Explain that you are involved with a BBS and the SilentTalk echo, and can help them in future advertising of such program. You might also advise them to contact SHHH (Self Help for Hard of Hearing People, Inc.), 7800 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland 20814, 301-657-2248 Voice and 301-657-2249 TDD for possible assistance. 3. Another possible source of spreading the word would be to contact Audiologists, Hearing Aid dispensers, and Otolaryngologist. Also SHHH Chapter(s) and group(s) are a good place to "pass the word". The above suggestions might be a starting place for you. And I'm sure some of the other SilentTalker's will have other suggestions.
