Has - anyone used MSDOS-based MNP software to "fix" this problem? i. Any - recommendations of shareware or commercial TSR MNP drivers? I have "tried" such programs, but not used them for any extended period. The problem is that comm software is a very subjective thing, almost as personal a preference as a word processor, and when you use software-based MNP you are tied to that program. The two I'm aware of are MTE from MagicSoft (Lombard, IL; 312-953-2374) and Mirror III from SoftKlone (Tallahassee, FL; 904-878-8564). MTE is packaged with many modems; Mirror is a very full-featured program that is more-or-less a clone of Crosstalk (with extensions). I am not aware of any TSR MNP drivers, shareware or commercial. It is very unlikely that you will find such a thing that would work with popular comm packages like Procomm or QMODEM. Virtually all comm software accesses the serial port hardware directly rather than going through the BIOS, so there's no way for a TSR to redirect the I/O through a protocol module. -- Toby ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Toby Nixon, Principal Engineer Fax: +1-404-441-1213 Telex: 6502670805 Hayes Microcomputer Products Inc.
