Could somebody please post a summary of some of the more popular
graphics formats, together with a note about which are line or bitmap;
colour, greyscale or black and white.

Could somebody else please post a summary of some of the more popular
graphics viewing programs, together with a note about what hardware they
work on and whether they are commercial or shareware.

Could somebody else please post a summary of some of the more popular
graphics format conversion programs, together with a note about what
hardware they work on and whether they are commercial or shareware.

I feel that as questions about formats, viewing and conversion come up
so often on this newsgroup, many of us would appreciate a summary.
