A brief description would be great too. 5250 is an IBM terminal / controller system. It is similar to the much more common 3270 series (but the underlying protocol is different). For one thing, a 5250 terminal is usually connected to it's controller via a twinax cable, whereas 3270 uses coax. I think that 5250 is real common on IBM's midrange systems.
