I am in need of a simple little C program that will open up a com port on
a Compaq 386/20e computer, in order to send some modem instructions through
it.  It should read the com port to make sure that the modem has received the
instructions.

I am running ISC version 2.0.2 Unix.

I'd rather borrow an already written program, instead of re-inventing the
program wheel.
