Aegis did the best they could with the ANIM standard, and there still isn't anything for real-time animation on any other platform that comes near it. Some of the ANIMs I create slow down, and I'm currently working an a 6MB (4MB fast/2MB chip) 25MHz A3000 where the chip-mem is twice as fast as in an A500/2000! For optimum playback speed, you need to go to something like PageFlipper Plus/FX...it'll sustain 60fps in non-interlaced resolutions, and 30fps in interlaced resolutions. Oh, what black bar (in DVIII) are you refering to???
