I don't think that this change of file systems does much to solve the problems. Whatever it is that is causing this it is insideous, and the fix is small and simple. Until I get some more definite info on what the problem REALLY is I plan to leave 'zeroclear' in place. My son's A500 with a A590 behaves the same as my A2000 with A2091. Both work with 'zeroclear' after doing Peter's fix & don't work without it.
