My brother's looking at buying a SuperGen next week to hook his
recently acquired A500 to his Sony BVU (3/4" U-Matic) editing
system.  He doesn't have a TBC or sync generator. (thats another
problem) 

Is this a good piece of hardware?  Is there any problems to watch
out for?  Should he be considering something else?  Price is
definitely a consideration  -- anyone got a used genlock for sale?
