Apple File Exchange sets the file's creator to 'pdos' and the type to '$C0', I believe, for a prodos file of type $C0. Problem is, this doesn't preserve the auxtype-- and a $C0, auxtype 0 file is very different from a $C0, auxtype 2 file! I've been setting the file type to be one letter followed by the type and the auxtype (the type takes up one byte, the auxtype 2), but this could easily conflict with other already-assigned file types. -- Matthew T.
