	Yes there is:  It's called MacCompress.  Current version is
3.2 and it's available via anon ftp to you-know-it sumex-aim.stanford.edu.
check out info-mac/util section.  But Unix compress has a problem
compressing MacBinary format but it does its job:  At least text is fine.
I'd prefer arc/zip because you have to tar and compress if you need
to archive, not only to compress.  Unix has unsit but not vice versa.
FUI, tar is also availabe at the same place I mentioned.
