In an init that I'm writing I would like to draw a string of text
after my Icon gets plotted with Showicon. Can this be done without trashing
the desktop? What managers do I have to initialize to draw a string?

Please don't tell me to  uses the notification manager or that I shouldn't
do that. 


I remember a discussion awhile back about printing debugging information
but I don't think I saved those articles.
