I'd like to modify the mail system so that it is able to read/write messages
to/from remote message databases such as the NNTP. Then I could use Mail (the
NeXT app) not only to read my private mail, but also to read public mail such as comp.sys.next

Where should I begin? What source/programs should I hack to get this
functionality? Would it be possible to use something like file links to
make Mail think it is reading/writing a local message file?
