It was pointed out to me that the file 00tex-files.txt was too
big to reach some sites (this is still a problem for
00inverted-index.txt, which may end up being split); to deal with
this problem, the main index has been split into the following
files:

00BABEL-INDEX.TXT
00BIBTEX-INDEX.TXT
00DOCUMENTATION-INDEX.TXT
00DRIVERS-INDEX.TXT
00DVI-STANDARD-INDEX.TXT
00FONTS-INDEX.TXT
00GRAPHICS-INDEX.TXT
00HERSHEY-INDEX.TXT
00IBM_PC-INDEX.TXT
00INPUTS-INDEX.TXT
00MACINTOSH-INDEX.TXT
00MF-INDEX.TXT
00PERIODICALS-INDEX.TXT
00SITE-INFO-INDEX.TXT
00SOURCES-INDEX.TXT;1
00TEST-INDEX.TXT;1
00UTILITIES-INDEX.TXT;1

00TEX-FILES.TXT now contains a list of index files available,

(these files are in [anonymous.tex] for FTP users, [tex] for
mailserv users).
