Message-ID: <11344@hydra.gatech.EDU> Date: 13 Jul 90 17:12:41 GMT Sender: news@prism.gatech.EDU Reply-To: ken@dali.gatech.edu (Ken Seefried iii) Followup-To: comp.unix.i386 Organization: The House Of Fun Lines: 27 --- Before I invested a lot of time in doing this, I thought I'd throw it out to the net.gods for any tips, flames, etc. that might be relevant: We'd like to turn an unused 386/20 (maybe 25) into a network bridge gating between a heavily loaded thick-net connection and our semi-lightly-loaded thinnet network. We would be running the latest, greatest SCO Unix. The machine would do nothing but run the network software (TCP/IP, SMTP, NNTP) and occasionally (once and hour) dial out on a TB 2500. The machine would be configured as: 386/20 ISA-bus with 6MB ram ~200MB disk 2 x Western Digital or 3com Ethertalk ethernet boards Mono monitor I'd sure like to hear from anyone who is running this kind of setup, especially if it doesn't work. All help greatly appreciated! -- ken seefried iii ken@cushing.gatech.edu "Vee haf veyz off making you talk...release da veasles..."
