This is just a post to confirm the behavior Marc Ries reported regarding
the ATI Windows 3 driver.  The fact that I had exactly the same symptoms may indicate something (up to the inablility to read
read.me's properly).  Anyone who has had success with this driver:  I'd appreciate private email to sort the issue out!
