Hello Alistair,

Well, you know, America certainly may be the epitome of Capitalism
and many here "do" see life as well as the market place, as being a
game of survival of the fittest.

The thing is, I think ADA is able to happen just the same, because
many of us American capitalist not only care about ourselves but
about those around us as well. I think, as in many countries, "we
the people" should not always be confused with "We the goverment."

Ocassionally, when "we the people" speak up together in a loud
enough voice, some of the better parts of being an American come
more clearly to light, that being us, the everyday people!

I know this may be a very simple and idealistic response to your
question concerning the development of ADA in such a Capitalist
society, but I think it stands true.
