I think this product would maybe be okay for someone with a "mild" loss, but I think for someone with a severe loss, for twenty dollars, it would probably be a useless toy. Similar "quality" devices do exist for people with severe loss, but you cannot buy them for twenty doilars I am afraid. If you or a friend or relative has a severe loss and you (they) want an "Assistive Listening Device", I think you would be more realistic to make a call to a Hearing and Speech clinic or see whoever you ear doctor is and ask about ALDs rather than send away for a twenety dollar product you saw on television.
