The spasticity is limited to his hips and legs; there doesn't seem to be any upper-body involvement thus far. His neurologist has indicated that Alastair is a good candidate for a selective rhizotomy operation. He can move his legs independently, but he is very stiff and can't maintain his balance when standing. I have read mixed reviews about this procedure. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with this operation? I would greatly appreciate any input you may have regarding the rhizotomy procedure. We will probably need to make a decision within the next year about this, so I would like to gather as much information as possible. Thanks in advance. -- BOFF,KENNETH R Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 uucp: ...!{decvax,hplabs,ncar,purdue,rutgers}!gatech!prism!kb3 Internet: kb3@prism.gatech.edu
