I want to keep users from being asked whether they want to add new newsgroups to their .newsrc, when these are groups our site doesn't even receive. Seems like I could do this by keeping those groups out of my active file. But I read somewhere in the documentation that my active file should contain all the existing groups, whether we get them or not. So what problems will surface if I disregard that and keep only the groups we receive in the active file? Or is there a better way to accomplish what I want? Please respond by email. I'll post a summary. Thanks. -- Joan Curry Becton Dickinson Research Center curry@bdrc.bd.com 21 Davis Drive, RTP, NC 27709 ...!mcnc!bdrc!curry (919) 549-8641
