Apparently the RAF declined the invitation to use their few remaining airworthy Hurricanes in the production, supposedly because they were upset at the portrayal of some of the pilots. The series does include airmen shown in a very poor light, more akin to modern "yuppie-hooligans" than how we traditionally perceive the men of the time (I'm trying not to give too much away here). I understand that extensive use of fibreglass replicas was made although we only actually see 3 (or is it 6?) 'planes airborne at a time. Robin.
