Loading the data doesn't seem to present much of a problem - other than the space required, but extracting usable subsets is. CRSP provides a CD ROM version with an interface program, but for various reasons, this was rejected by the business school. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with these products in a VMS environment and particularly how the retrieval problem was handled (note I did not say "solved" 8-). Please email responses to me and I will summarize if there is sufficient interest. -- Paul Amaranth office: (313) 370 4541 home: (313) 650 2428 (internet) amaranth@vela.acs.oakland.edu | Always remember -- That (bitnet) amaranth@oakland | way, when somebody asks (uucp) ...!uunet!umich!vela!amaranth | you'll know - J.
