I'm looking for algorithms that partition a given space into sub-spaces.
If one of the sub-spaces changes, the others also have to change,
without introducing gaps. In the simple case, this describes 'tiling'
of windows on a screen (i.e., the way MS-Windows used to be). However,
I haven't been able to find this covered any graphics texts. I'd
appreciate any pointers to relevant literature.
