The microscope is hooked up to a home made digitizing setup such that we can obtain greyscale images of each section and view them on a pc. What we need now is some way to generate a 3D image of the object and be able to view it from different angles (in real-time !!). We have access to an iris 4D/25GT and a IBM RISC/6000 530 with a 24 bit graphics board( same as on the iris I guess). VoxelView was reccomended, but is way tooooo expensive. Any suggestions ?.
