Keywords: need help in understanding device drivers Message-ID: <2849@elrond.CalComp.COM> Date: 24 Jul 90 14:52:28 GMT Organization: Calcomp, A Lockheed Company, Hudson, NH, USA Lines: 20 Hello netters, I'm working on understanding device drivers. First a little background: This company makes a graphic engine that plugs into the Q-bus or the VME bus. the device driver is written to support both BSD (Ultrix, uMIPS), and sysV (m68k). Needless to say, the current driver is a mass of #ifdef's. I'm looking for a book, or books, that explain just how one writes a driver. This will aid me in understanding what I already have. Thanks in advance. -- Steve Hodsdon | Stay sane inside insanity. shodsdon@elrond.CalComp.COM | Don't dream it - Be it. {decvax|harvard}!elrond!shodsdon | (603) 885-8324 |
