Amanda, I'm sure that you would agree that if a sufficiently reliable uunet competetor (with all the attendant services, good people running the show, good connectivity and all that) were to appear offering you a significantly lower cost per month for your mail, that you'd have to consider switching. There are considerable distance considerations to make; since uunet is a local call for you it would have to be an extraordinarily better system to make you switch. I know that PSI has set up a similar hub intended to compete with uunet, and I think they have won some customers. Anyone hoping to sell their services to others is going to need to keep their mail setup up-to-date and accurate.
