I'm adding a phone line and modem to my NCR Tower (SysV) so that
I can provide newsfeeds in my local area. I am looking for a
SysV uugetty equivalent to make both my modems bidirectional.

I've tried "uutty" from comp.sources.unix, which works fine for
direct lines, but seems not to understand my modems (hayes
compatible 2400 baud). With uutty controlling the port, DTR
raises and drops continuously every few seconds. uugetty
on other machines works fine with these modems.
